March 18 – Show Prep and Brusho Demonstration

Today we talked about the show this weekend to ensure everyone was ready that was going to participate – Saturday March 23 from 9 to 3.

We had a few show and shares from Brenda, Ray and Kathy (left to right):

Olivia also showed a few recent projects:

Mary also went home after Zentangle last week and added some pops of colour to her tiles, and now she really wants to frame them!

And then Cindy led us through a Brusho Demonstration. We watched three short videos by Karen Rice, Joanne Boon Thomas and Ward Jean Stroub and had a look at two books that Cindy brought:

Brusho is a crystalline watercolour ink powder that is activated by water. Cindy demonstrated the technique and then we had a chance to try it for ourselves. Here are a few of Cindy’s pieces created using Brusho:

Demonstrating one technique by sprinkling on the paper, and the products:

Then we all tried it:

This was a lot of fun and thanks to Cindy for the demo, can see some new purchases for a few of us to add to our art supply stash!

You may recall Kimmer’s turtle from yesterday’s Brusho session, well, she went home and added some pen work to it to really make it pop!
