Watercolor Session – Dec 18, 2023

Today we were lead by our own Terri in a session about using watercolors and what she recommends you start with for brushes, paper and paints, as well as techniques. While not all of us are watercolor people we all had fun!

We will not be meeting on December 25th and January 1st to allow us to be with friends and family on these holiday days. We will meet again on Monday, January 8th, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Bring anything you worked on during our hiatus!

First we had a show and share of some of our recent projects.

Kimmer’s finished Octopus collage! That eye just mesmerises!

A trio of Lynn’s most recent watercolors. Love the turtles, the water and ice cubes look drinkable and the Dolphin utilizes Lynn’s signature detail along with loosening it up as well!

Lisa finished her collage, this one is going to her Granddaughter’s room along with some Zentangle projects that she’s given them previously!

A couple of Terri’s recent watercolors. The left showing the circle of path of light, which is a technique learned from Karlyn Holman, a favourite mentor of Terri’s. Both great pieces! Sorry for the glare but this is a normal problem with photographs of watercolors under glass.

Watercolors in progress, Lisa’s mess on the left and Brenda’s lovely flowers on the right!

Lynn working on a great beach scene. She used a bar of soap to create an unusual resist in the sand area. Can’t wait to see this one completed!

Mindy and Alex’s works in progress. Both look great!
