Jan 3, 2022 – Open Studio and Art Show Planning

Today we had open studio and some worked on their next steps of papier mache and some brought other projects to work on. Kimmer showed us a recently completed commission that she can’t show at Tecalai because it is a Mermaid in all her glory up top. She is beautiful and it’s too bad she can’t be at the show with us, but nudes aren’t allowed…

We started planning for the show, which will be Jan 15 & 16, 2022 at the Tecalai Clubhouse. We are all getting excited because this will be our first club show in 2 years!

Here are a few of the things that our Members have been working on:

Colleen has been working on Clay Roof tiles which have turned out great! The two on the right are reclaimed tiles off a Loma Del Mar demolition, and have Mexico stamped right in the face of them!
Libby added some shading to the Giraffe’s neck to give her more dimension. Sassy or what?
Terri’s Chica in progress
Our newest member, Alex, brought this large carved wood mask that she inherited when she purchased her house here. She and Kimmer were having fun painting him up!
