Collage with Olivia – Feb 9, 2026

Olivia did a Collage Project with us today. She prefers to use a flour and hot water glue over white glue because it has a longer open time to reposition items. She provided all of us with containers of flour glue and we went to town!

But before we talk about that, here are some Collage pieces and a few pieces from last week’s Relief class for you to enjoy:

Terri brought in a Collage from a past session, and also two relief pieces that she did. Chica on the left is a work in progress, but the Calla Lily turned out great! The mountainscape is Brenda’s and she had it pretty much completed last week in the class! Difficult to see the 3-D-ness but these turned out great!

Kimmer brought a triptych Collage with Resin pour for us to see, she started these in a previous collage session. To the right are her finished seahorse and cactus relief pieces from last week. A lot of inspiration for the rest of us! Awesome work!

Olivia was busy this week getting some collage examples together to show us. Some of the photos are cut off due to the gallery grouping function of the website, so click each item to see the whole thing! The dog is twisted brown paper towels to create fur / almost dreadlock-ish! Love the fence on the garden piece, and the couple walking are all flower petals and seeds! Love the lady in her colorful outfit, and study the turtle hard, each piece of the shell is a turtle picture! Very creative and definitely inspired us as well!

Olivia getting papers and materials ready for the workshop.

And here are some photos of works in progress and then at the end a few of them that are finished or near finished:

One end of the room brought drawing materials and worked on drawing while the rest worked on collage.

And below are some finished or almost finished:

Next week is Colour Theory with Jossana! Watch for Terri’s email with the list of materials. I will start posting the lists on the bottom of the previous week post as well as some people are having difficulty getting the emails!
