Today we had a special guest do a Watercolor session with us, Jody Rigsby. Terri met Jody a few years ago when Jody and her husband stayed at their yard in New Mexico to “house sit” one winter. Jody has been coming to San Carlos for a couple of years now and offered to do a WC class for us. Jody led us through painting shells. Her technique is a little different in that she doesn’t flow color on but rather dabs color on and many layers and brings in other colors that you wouldn’t normally think of to add contrast and make things pop.
A few of us brought in recent projects and a few more completed Coconut Papier Mache animals for us to enjoy:

Top row, left to right: Claudia’s Shih Tzu, then Brenda’s Puffer Fish and Jan’s Cat. Middle row, left to right: Lisa’s Salsa dog in progress, and her finished Crab Fart’s piece, and Terri’s completed PVC lamp that everyone but the person she is doing it for has seen! Finally the last photo is Olivia’s rooster with feathers!
Below are some photos of us getting to work on our shells:

Then a few more photos as we were making progress:

Looking forward to seeing some of these pieces completed!
